Green Summit Scales Building Performance Practice with Industry Veterans

With over 70 years of combined experience, Dave Chasar, Tei Kucharski, and Donard Metzger have joined Green Summit to anchor the firm’s national building performance expansion. The hires coincide with the company’s new status as a RESNET Rating Provider and a technical role in a Department of Energy-funded research project.

The team arrives as Green Summit secures a contract to support the University of Central Florida’s PV-GEMS project. This initiative evaluates integrated residential retrofits, including high-efficiency HVAC, solar generation, and battery storage. Green Summit will manage site-readiness reviews, field support, and data validation, providing technical insights that could influence future home electrification standards.

Scaling Quality and Technical Training

Beyond research, the firm is operationalizing its new RESNET Rating Provider status by implementing rigorous quality assurance protocols. These include standardized multipoint blower-door testing and AI-assisted submittal reviews designed to identify inconsistencies in project documentation. Jonathan D. Stowers, President of Green Summit, noted that the firm is leveraging this collective expertise to bridge the gap between building science theory and measurable industry value.

Educational initiatives will form a core component of the company’s growth. The new team plans to expand technical training for builders, code officials, and energy modelers, focusing on the integration of emerging technologies like hybrid inverters and advanced energy controls into standard modeling practices. By combining field-verified data with professional oversight, the company aims to move quality assurance away from final administrative checks and toward an integrated, project-wide process.
