The new appointees are Bo Young Lee, CEO of AI4ALL; Tonya Veasey, Chief Engagement Officer at Raben; and Dr. Eric Winkfield, who leads Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at M Booth and M Booth Health. These leaders bring expertise spanning artificial intelligence, public affairs, and philanthropy to the nonprofit, which has operated as an independent entity since 2025. Their addition aligns with the DAA's 2026 theme of Collective Power, intended to provide communications professionals with the tools necessary to navigate increasing industry complexity.
Carmella Glover, President and CEO of the DAA, described the appointments as a deliberate strategy to ensure the board mirrors the rigor and diversity of thought expected from the organizations they support. Board Chair Soon Mee Kim emphasized that the selection reflects a need for robust governance during a period of palpable pressure on diversity initiatives. The DAA, founded in 2019, remains focused on tracking leadership representation and defining advancement standards within the communications profession.
