The latest industry figures underscore a diverse landscape of marine activity, from the coastal harbors of the Atlantic to the freshwater networks of the Great Lakes. Texas followed the Sunshine State with $2.33 billion in sales, while Michigan secured the third position with $1.47 billion. These figures account for the combined retail movement of new powerboats, marine engines, trailers, and various accessories.
According to Frank Hugelmeyer, president and CEO of the NMMA, the findings reflect a deep-seated cultural commitment to outdoor recreation. Beyond the top three, states including North Carolina, New York, and Minnesota continue to anchor the market, proving that demand persists regardless of regional climate or geography. The full top 10 list also includes Wisconsin, California, Georgia, and Alabama, each contributing nearly a billion dollars or more to the national total, signaling a steady economic footprint for the recreational boating sector.
