DataBahn Debuts Federated Search to Streamline Security Investigations

Modern security operations often face a paradox: while companies hoard more data than ever, the cost of centralizing it for analysis has become prohibitive. The platform integrates a live knowledge graph called Reef, which automatically maps raw data points—such as IP addresses—to specific devices and owners, providing immediate context. By pairing this with Lumen, an AI-driven threat-hunting agent, analysts can use plain language to trigger investigations that span multiple systems. Instead of manually correlating browser tabs, security teams receive a cited, actionable timeline. According to Aditya Sundararam, chief product officer at DataBahn, the move represents a fundamental shift from merely managing data pipelines to orchestrating intelligence across the entire enterprise environment.

This launch builds on the company’s recent $40 million Series B funding round. Beyond search, the platform introduces MCP Hub, a governed gateway designed to provide AI agents with consistent, audited access to systems. By decoupling intelligence from specific storage vendors, DataBahn enables security teams to maintain vendor neutrality while running long-range hunts that were previously too slow or expensive to execute.
