CrowdStrike Falcon Fund Backs Insider Risk Startup Above Security

At Black Hat USA, AI-native firm Above Security announced a strategic investment from the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund. The move deepens a partnership that integrates Above’s autonomous investigative agents with the Falcon platform, aiming to shift insider risk management from static policy monitoring to active, investigation-ready intelligence.

Above utilizes a fleet of always-on AI agents to analyze behavior across identities, applications, and data movement. By correlating telemetry from CrowdStrike’s Next-Gen SIEM with third-party data, the platform constructs behavioral narratives that provide context behind risk classifications. These completed investigations are fed back into the Falcon ecosystem, allowing security teams to manage potential threats as a native component of their existing infrastructure.

Michael Sentonas, President of CrowdStrike, noted that the investment targets companies solving complex cybersecurity hurdles through agentic technology. For Above, the deal marks a significant expansion of its market reach following a $50 million funding round led by Ballistic Ventures, Merlin Ventures, and Norwest earlier this year. Aviv Nahum, CEO of Above Security, emphasized that the collaboration moves the industry toward a model where risk management is driven by automated investigation rather than manual rule-setting. The company, which recently placed as a runner-up in the CrowdStrike Cybersecurity Startup Accelerator, is currently showcasing its behavioral intelligence tools at Booth #5332 at Black Hat USA.
