Allegiant Air Pilots Secure Massive Pay Hikes in New Teamsters Contract

With 99 percent of eligible members casting ballots, 1,300 pilots at Allegiant Air have overwhelmingly approved a new two-year collective bargaining agreement. The deal, ratified by an 80 percent margin, delivers an immediate 40 percent hourly wage increase and triggers $300 million in accrued retention bonuses for the flight crews.

The contract negotiated by Teamsters Local 2118 marks a significant shift in compensation and job security. By January 2027, pilots will see total wage increases reach approximately 54 percent. Beyond pay, the agreement introduces a 15 percent company-funded 401(k) contribution, long-term disability coverage extending to age 65, and a new five-hour minimum pay credit for each flight duty period.

Ryan Joseph, president of Local 2118, noted that the deal bolsters the pilots' position as they prepare for upcoming joint collective bargaining and seniority list integration. The package also includes expanded leave protections, increased premium pay for voluntary flying, and specific safeguards against displacement and furloughs. Dave Saucedo, director of the Teamsters Airline Division, credited the union’s internal unity for securing these gains, adding that the momentum will be vital as the group shifts its focus toward long-term career protections and working conditions.
