Ericsson Repurchases 3.5 Million Shares in Late July Buyback Push

331.3 million Swedish krona flowed into Ericsson’s own equity between July 27 and July 31, 2026, as the telecommunications giant accelerated its ongoing buyback program. The company acquired 3.5 million Class B shares through Nasdaq Stockholm, with daily volumes peaking mid-week as market prices fluctuated near 94.65 SEK per share.

These transactions form a core component of Ericsson’s broader 15 billion SEK capital return initiative, which launched in April 2026 and is scheduled to conclude by the end of March 2027. Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE managed the execution of these trades, ensuring compliance with European Market Abuse Regulation standards. Following this latest activity, Ericsson’s treasury holdings have climbed to 91,169,316 Class B shares. The company’s board maintains a strategy to cancel the majority of these repurchased shares at the 2027 Annual General Meeting, excluding those reserved for existing employee incentive obligations. With a total share count of over 3.37 billion, this periodic buyback serves as a mechanism to manage the company's capital structure while signaling confidence in long-term valuation.
