Wendy’s strengthens UK digital team with new product manager

Tony Weedon, formerly of Nando’s UK & Ireland, has joined The Wendy’s Company as Digital Product Manager. His appointment marks a strategic step in the fast-food chain's aggressive European expansion, as the brand looks to scale its digital infrastructure following a successful return to the British market.

Weedon joins a growing technology team tasked with building the digital products necessary to support the company’s ambitious growth trajectory across the UK and Europe. His arrival follows the appointment of Rob McGeown as Head of Technology UK earlier this year. McGeown, a veteran of Starbucks, Harrods, and Burberry, is currently focused on stabilizing and scaling the brand’s technical systems for franchise partners and customers alike.

Since re-entering the UK market in 2021, Wendy’s has rapidly established 50 locations. The company, which originally struggled with market presence in the 1980s and 90s due to high operating costs, is now targeting a footprint of 150 new restaurants across Europe by 2028. The current push signals a departure from its previous transient history in the region, prioritizing a modern, tech-integrated approach to its operations.
