Sarah Findlater leaves M&S to lead people strategy at Pets at Home

After three decades at Marks & Spencer, Sarah Findlater is transitioning to the pet retail sector. She will join Pets at Home on November 2 as Group Chief People Officer, tasked with overseeing the company's retail, veterinary, and insurance divisions while reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer James Bailey.

Findlater’s appointment follows a long tenure at M&S, where she most recently served as Chief People Officer. During her time there, she played a significant role in navigating the company through complex business transformations, focusing on organizational performance and leadership culture.

Chief Executive Officer James Bailey noted that Findlater’s extensive experience in retail will be instrumental as the company enters its next phase of growth. According to Bailey, her background is expected to help sharpen the firm's strategic direction and maintain its specialized culture. Findlater stated that her decision to join was driven by the significant energy and ambition she observed within the business, noting that she remains committed to the principle that strong, people-focused cultures are the bedrock of successful commercial enterprises.
