MSA Safety reports 6% sales growth and $555 million acquisition

Pittsburgh-based MSA Safety reported second-quarter 2026 net sales of $503 million, a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. The industrial safety firm also finalized the $555 million acquisition of Autronica Fire and Security in July, marking a significant expansion of its fixed detection platform.

The company’s GAAP net income reached $86 million, representing a 40% year-over-year climb, while adjusted earnings rose 24% to $93 million. CEO Steve Blanco credited the performance to the company's "Accelerate" strategy and disciplined execution across its global business segments. CFO Julie Beck noted that margin expansion was supported by the company’s internal business system and favorable tariff refunds.

Following the acquisition of Autronica, MSA Safety’s pro forma net leverage stands at approximately 1.8x. Alongside its growth initiatives, the firm maintained its commitment to shareholder returns, increasing its annual dividend for the 56th consecutive year and deploying $47 million toward buybacks and dividends during the second quarter.
