Garet Hil, CEO of the National Kidney Registry and National Liver Registry, positioned the organizations’ Streamlined Serology Services as a primary solution for centers struggling to adapt to the upcoming August 17, 2026, policy shift. The service aims to mitigate the risk of testing delays by providing results within 48 hours of a donor’s blood draw, supported by complimentary emergency courier shipments and 24/7 oversight from an operations team.
The service, which covers 17 distinct infectious disease tests and final crossmatching, is being opened to both member and non-member centers. To ensure operational stability, the registries will transition to the new seven-day window starting August 10, 2026, providing a one-week buffer before the national mandate takes effect. Centers looking to secure these testing protocols ahead of the deadline are invited to participate in a follow-up webinar scheduled for August 5, 2026.
