Big Sky Food & Wine Festival Unveils Star-Studded Debut Lineup

Against the dramatic backdrop of Lone Mountain, the inaugural Big Sky Food & Wine Festival will bring over 40 Michelin-starred and James Beard Award-winning culinary experts to Montana this September. Running from September 24–26, 2026, the event promises a blend of high-altitude dining, live-fire cooking, and exclusive winemaker sessions.

The festival aims to fuse Montana’s agricultural heritage with global gastronomy. Host chef Ming Tsai, alongside industry luminaries such as Nancy Silverton, Akira Back, and Marc Forgione, will lead a series of demonstrations and intimate dinners designed to anchor the region as a serious culinary destination. The event centers on a Grand Tasting Tent at the Big Sky Events Arena, featuring high-profile vintners like Krug, Ruinart, and Joseph Phelps, alongside local craft distillers and brewers.

Beyond the tasting tents, the weekend features specialized programming including a speakeasy-style experience dubbed The Hideaway and a dedicated mixology stage. Tickets range from $1,000 for general access to $2,000 for VIP passes, which include priority dining access and entry to exclusive events like the opening night barbecue. Proceeds from the festival are earmarked for the Big Sky Community Food Bank, reinforcing the event's local focus.
