The shift marks a rebranding for the organization, which is dropping "Labs" from its name to signal that its AI is no longer experimental but a core component of clinical practice. Under the new banner of Akido Medical, the system uses ScopeAI to process patient data in real time, allowing doctors to bypass the cognitive load of charting and focus on diagnosis. The technology has already seen deployment in high-stakes environments, including street medicine programs for unhoused populations in Los Angeles.

Akido reports that its AI-driven model has achieved a 55% reduction in emergency department utilization and a 96 Net Promoter Score. To support this scale, the firm has recruited engineering talent from Goldman Sachs and the dental AI sector, while establishing an independent AI Clinical Advisory Council to oversee its protocols. According to CEO Prashant Samant, the goal is to leverage automation to stretch a limited supply of healthcare providers without sacrificing the human element of medicine.
