Macaulay Culkin in Talks for Potential Home Alone Revival

Entertainment journalist Matthew Belloni reported that Disney is actively courting Culkin, viewing a reunion with the original star as a massive commercial opportunity. During a recent episode of his podcast, The Town, Belloni revealed that the studio is reportedly offering Culkin creative control over a passion project as part of a package deal to bring him back to the iconic role of Kevin McCallister. While no official agreement is in place, the studio is reportedly impressed by the actor's pitch for a modern follow-up.

Culkin has previously signaled openness to a return, provided the narrative meets his personal standards. He has envisioned a story where an adult Kevin, now a father, finds himself on the receiving end of the home-security chaos that defined his childhood. Despite the potential for a reboot, the production would proceed without Catherine O’Hara, who played Kevin’s mother and passed away in early 2026. Culkin, who shares two sons with partner Brenda Song, has kept his professional history with the films largely private from his children, preferring to preserve the magic of the movies while they watch them together.
