Natalie Jolley Exits DWTS: The Next Pro Following Rehearsal Accident

A routine team practice for Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro took a harrowing turn when contestant Natalie Jolley suffered a severe facial injury, forcing her immediate withdrawal from the competition before the scheduled showcase could even begin.

The 20-year-old dancer was struck in the face during a high-speed group rehearsal led by guest judge Britt Stewart. The impact left Jolley struggling to breathe through her nose and visibly disoriented, prompting an emergency response from medical staff and an eventual ambulance transport to a local facility. Fellow competitor Adele Zaikman described the injury as a significant black eye, while Stephani Sosa, who accidentally caused the collision, struggled with the emotional aftermath of the incident. Stewart noted that the accident served as a stark reminder of the dangers inherent in high-stakes group choreography where spatial awareness is paramount.

The departure of Jolley disrupted the remaining dancers, who were denied extra rehearsal time to compensate for her absence. When the group performed for judges Mark and Shirley Ballas the following day, the lack of preparation resulted in a disjointed showing. Tristen Sanders and Nina Mayster were initially identified as the weakest performers, but the judges bypassed a traditional elimination, instead tasking the pair with leading the next showcase as team captains. This shift in the competition follows a season already marked by volatility, including the earlier double elimination of Briar Nolet and Jake Monreal, as well as pointed critiques from veteran pro Val Chmerkovskiy regarding the conduct and perceived arrogance of contestant AJ Pritchard.
