M&S expands zero-emission fleet with new DAF electric trucks

Five of the new vehicles are already active, with the remaining five slated for deployment later this year. These additions bolster a growing lineup that currently includes eight zero-tailpipe emission battery electric HGVs and five battery electric Rigids. The project, developed under the eFREIGHT 2030 initiative, is backed by the UK government’s Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure programme.

Mick Pethard, Group Fleet Manager at M&S, noted that the integration of these trucks is essential for the company's long-term environmental targets. By collaborating with Gist and DAF, the retailer aims to refine its logistics network through energy-saving technologies that provide both carbon reduction and improved efficiency across its Food, Fashion, Home, and Beauty divisions.
