Global Retail Giants Converge for Responsible Seafood Summit in Bangkok

From Walmart and ALDI to Albertsons and Red Lobster, the world’s most influential seafood buyers are heading to Thailand this September. As supply chain volatility persists, these industry leaders will gather at the 2026 Responsible Seafood Summit to align on sustainability standards and shifting global market demands.

The Global Seafood Alliance confirmed a high-profile lineup for the event, scheduled for September 21–24 in Bangkok. The summit serves as a critical nexus for retailers, foodservice companies, and producers to address the mounting pressure of evolving consumer expectations and complex international logistics. Beyond the major retail chains, the participant list includes entities such as Bidfood, Captain D's, Mark Foods, Meituan, and Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited.

Steve Hart, Senior Vice President of Market Development at the Global Seafood Alliance, emphasized that the summit is designed to bridge the gap between market priorities and production realities. By facilitating direct collaboration, the organization aims to foster a more resilient seafood supply chain. The four-day program will focus on dissecting emerging industry trends, technological innovation, and the practical application of sustainability certifications across the global value chain. As the event approaches, organizers anticipate further additions to the roster of international buyers and stakeholders.
