New Jersey American Water Finalizes Gordon's Corner Utility Buyout

The acquisition, which includes the onboarding of 20 former Gordon's Corner staff members, marks the eleventh such expansion for the utility over the past five years. President Mark McDonough committed to a $25 million infrastructure overhaul over the next five years, targeting aging water mains, fire hydrants, and customer meters. Plans also include the rehabilitation of a water tank on Holiday Road in Manalapan and upgrades to system security and treatment facilities.

Former Gordon's Corner President David Ern cited the need for additional resources as a driver for the sale. Customers are being transitioned to the company's MyWater online portal and will gain access to the H2O Help to Others assistance program. New Jersey American Water, a subsidiary of American Water, now serves approximately 3 million people across the state, continuing a growth strategy that has added over 40,500 customers to its network since 2021.
