The program upgrade follows a successful June launch that established drop-off points in 52 cities across 25 states, including major hubs like New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. While the initial phase relied on a network of volunteer Recycling Ambassadors, the new mail-in option enables users to ship empty glass bottles and plastic caps directly to TerraCycle using prepaid FedEx or UPS labels.
Participants are incentivized through a tiered rewards system that grants discount coupons for submissions of at least 10 bottles, with additional rewards and quarterly gift boxes available for top contributors. Once collected, the materials are processed into raw components for the construction industry, including brick, cement, and concrete. The company encourages nail salons, beauty schools, and organizations to continue joining as ambassadors to broaden the program's reach. By simplifying the disposal process for both professional and amateur users, the brand aims to integrate sustainability directly into the beauty routine.
