Jacob Elordi Recalls the Physical Toll of His Euphoria Exit

Locked in a coffin for two days with a lethargic snake and prosthetic makeup, Jacob Elordi found his final Euphoria scenes less like prestige drama and more like an endurance test. The actor recently joked that series creator Sam Levinson brought him back for the third season solely to torture him.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live alongside costar Colman Domingo, Elordi detailed the grueling reality of filming Nate Jacobs’ demise. The sequence involved weeks of physical stunts, including being repeatedly beaten by a seven-foot adversary. For the character’s final moments, the production team confined Elordi to a coffin, where the actor remained for 48 hours—blinded by prosthetics and unable to move his arms while the lid was sealed shut.

Despite the claustrophobic conditions, the most unexpected element was a snake co-star meant to deliver a fatal bite. Elordi described the reptile as remarkably docile, comparing its temperament to a sleepy puppy rather than a menacing predator. He spent much of the filming time attempting to nudge the animal into a more active state, only for it to curl up at his feet in search of warmth. Levinson later defended the unconventional death as a calculated form of narrative karma, designed to leave the audience conflicted after witnessing the character's long-standing cruelty.
