Barua will take his seat on the board’s Technology and Innovation and Compensation Committees. Chairman and CEO David Gitlin cited Barua’s background in industrial digital transformation and artificial intelligence as the primary drivers for the selection, noting that his expertise aligns with the firm’s current push to integrate advanced software into climate and energy hardware.
Before taking the helm at PTC in 2024, Barua served as CEO of ServiceMax and IPC Systems, and held an operating partner role at the investment firm Silver Lake. His career trajectory highlights a focus on service lifecycle management and scaling industrial technology enterprises. He holds a degree in finance and economics from the NYU Stern School of Business.
