Greenberg Traurig Recruits Veteran Trial Lawyer William Dorsey

William Dorsey, a veteran trial lawyer with over two decades of experience and more than 75 cases tried to judgment, has joined Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder. Splitting his time between the firm’s Denver and New York offices, he moves from Blank Rome to bolster the firm’s national litigation practice.

Dorsey brings a deep background in financial services, real estate, and complex commercial disputes to his new role. His track record includes securing a complete defense award in a $53 million arbitration for a national bank and managing high-value foreclosures across multiple states. Before this move, he served as a founding partner of the Chicago office at Blank Rome, where he led the business litigation group. Chief Executive Officer Brian L. Duffy noted that Dorsey’s courtroom history and understanding of the financial sector align with the firm’s strategy for handling high-stakes client matters.

Financial Services Litigation Practice Chair Paul J. Ferak highlighted the practical, client-focused approach Dorsey brings to a team that frequently navigates cross-jurisdictional challenges. For his part, Dorsey cited the firm’s global reach and its specific depth in real estate and financial services as the primary drivers for the transition. A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, he now joins a platform that spans 51 locations worldwide, aiming to leverage his experience to expand existing client relationships within the firm’s collaborative environment.
