Morsani Family Pledges $5 Million to Bolster TGH Brooksville Emergency Care

Longtime Florida philanthropists Frank and Carol Morsani have donated $5 million to Tampa General Hospital, marking the first major private investment in TGH Brooksville since the facility integrated into the academic health system last year. The gift aims to modernize emergency services and expand access for Hernando County residents.

The contribution is intended to serve as a catalyst for future development at the Brooksville campus, focusing on infrastructure upgrades and the recruitment of specialized medical staff. John Couris, president and CEO of the Florida Health Sciences Center, noted that the partnership reflects a broader strategy to decentralize high-level care, ensuring that advanced clinical solutions are available closer to where patients live.

For the Morsanis, who have resided in the Brooksville area for years, the donation is personal. Frank Morsani expressed hope that the funding would encourage further community investment in both the Brooksville and Spring Hill hospitals. Leadership at TGH anticipates that these resources will allow for significant improvements in patient outcomes and technological capabilities, reinforcing the hospital's role as a primary healthcare hub for the region.
