Jon Bon Jovi Cuts Madison Square Garden Show Short Due to Infection

A sinus infection forced Jon Bon Jovi to abandon his Madison Square Garden set midway through Thursday night’s performance on the Forever Tour. The 64-year-old rock icon addressed the sold-out crowd before exiting, promising that ticket holders would be accommodated as he takes a brief hiatus to recover.

The singer had powered through 90 minutes of the set, even sharing the stage with Train frontman Pat Monahan for a rendition of "Livin’ On a Prayer," before his condition necessitated an early departure. Addressing his fans, Bon Jovi urged them to retain their ticket stubs while he arranges a rescheduled date. A representative later confirmed that the abrupt stop was strictly due to a sinus infection, noting that the residency at the iconic venue holds significant personal meaning for the performer.

This setback follows a grueling four-year recovery period for the singer, who underwent vocal cord medialization surgery in 2022 to address vocal cord atrophy. After extensive rehabilitation and training, he recently returned to live performances, framing the current tour as a personal rebirth. Despite the frustration of the shortened evening, the singer maintained his resolve before leaving the stage: "I’m going to have to cool it for a night. I feel great, I’ll see you again soon."
