The new stores, situated at the Mall of America and Westfield Southcenter, aim to replicate the immersive experience established by the Chicago flagship. These facilities act as hubs for the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, offering a deep catalog of GUNPLA model kits, exclusive merchandise, and life-sized displays. The decision to expand into these specific markets follows a year of high visitor traffic at the Chicago location, which opened in 2025.
Beyond retail, the brand is positioning these sites as community centers for hobbyists. Each location will feature staff support for model builders and host events tied to the franchise, which recently marked 45 years of history. Bandai Namco plans to release specific details regarding grand opening celebrations and limited-edition product drops as the 2026 launch dates approach.
