MSI Unveils Server Lineup Powered by 6th Gen AMD EPYC Processors

The new portfolio centers on two distinct CPU configurations: the SP7 design, which supports up to 256 cores and 512 threads for performance-heavy tasks, and the SP8 design, offering up to 128 cores and 256 threads for balanced enterprise environments. Danny Hsu, general manager of MSI's Enterprise Platform Solutions, stated that the company is prioritizing workload-specific architecture to help organizations manage evolving infrastructure demands.

MSI is integrating these processors into a variety of form factors, including its CG681-S6093 liquid-cooled 6U GPU server, which leverages 400G networking and E1.S NVMe storage to handle intensive AI workloads. For cloud and containerized environments, the company introduced 19-inch DC-MHS multi-node platforms, alongside 21-inch Open Compute (ORv3) designs that accommodate diverse socket and cooling requirements. The rollout also includes 1U and 2U enterprise servers specifically configured for database and virtualization tasks, featuring OCP 3.0 networking and flexible storage options.
