The partnership targets commercial production by 2028, with modules designed to comply with India’s Approved List of Module Manufacturers (ALMM) requirements. By layering perovskite atop silicon, the modules promise a significant boost in power density over standard silicon-only units, providing a critical tool for India to close the gap on its ambitious 500 GW renewable energy goal. To reach this benchmark, the nation needs to add 350 GW of capacity in less than four years.
Scott Graybeal, CEO of Caelux, noted that the collaboration focuses on scaling advanced energy technology within one of the world's fastest-growing markets. Navitas Solar, which operates a vertically integrated manufacturing platform, plans to leverage this tech to enhance domestic production capabilities. Ankit Singhania, Co-Founder of Navitas, described the move as a shift toward manufacturing globally competitive, high-efficiency equipment locally, reinforcing the company's role in the national energy transition.
