RTX Reports Strong Q2 Growth and Lifts 2026 Financial Outlook

RTX Corporation reported a robust second quarter for 2026, delivering $24.7 billion in sales—a 14% increase over the previous year. Driven by double-digit growth across its commercial and defense segments, the aerospace giant has raised its full-year guidance for adjusted sales, earnings per share, and free cash flow.

The company’s performance was anchored by a 16% organic sales increase, supported by high demand in both commercial aftermarket and defense systems. RTX Chairman and CEO Chris Calio highlighted that the firm’s backlog has expanded to $289 billion, a 22% jump year-over-year. This total comprises $170 billion in commercial orders and $119 billion in defense contracts, providing a clear trajectory for future production.

Financial results showed adjusted earnings per share of $1.89, representing a 21% rise compared to the same period in 2025. Free cash flow reached $2.9 billion for the quarter. Bolstered by these results, management revised its full-year outlook, now projecting adjusted sales between $95 billion and $96 billion. Adjusted earnings per share are now expected to reach $7.10 to $7.25, while the forecast for free cash flow has been lifted to a range of $8.50 billion to $8.75 billion. The company also confirmed an agreement to sell its Blue Canyon Technologies business for $620 million as part of its ongoing portfolio refinement.
