Vivobarefoot CCTO Steven Irwin Announces Departure

After nearly three years guiding the digital and commercial strategy at Vivobarefoot, Steven Irwin is stepping down from his role as Chief Commercial & Technology Officer. The veteran footwear executive, who previously held leadership positions at Hunter Boots and ASICS, plans to depart the brand at the end of September.

Irwin confirmed the news via a LinkedIn post, citing a desire to pursue a new challenge closer to home. During his tenure, he focused on scaling the brand’s digital infrastructure and commercial reach, positioning the company within the minimalist footwear market. He described his time at the firm as a unique experience, noting the company’s specific ambition to reshape how consumers interact with their footwear.

While Irwin has not disclosed his next professional destination, he remains involved in the company’s immediate future by actively assisting in the search for his successor. He is currently soliciting applications from retail leaders capable of managing brand expansion and leading cross-functional teams, characterizing the role as a significant opportunity to influence the consumer retail space.
