Traditional mining pools typically require miners to sacrifice privacy, storing operational data on centralized servers that link performance to user identity. OCEAN Portal circumvents this by utilizing Sub-space Locker, an encryption system that processes all data locally within the user's browser. According to OCEAN, this architectural choice ensures that the pool itself cannot access or read the underlying information, effectively decoupling high-level tooling from identity requirements.
The dashboard allows operators to aggregate multiple Bitcoin addresses into a single interface, categorize hardware by specific sites, and generate read-only access links for teams or clients. Users gain access by signing in with a Bitcoin address and a custom password, bypassing standard account or email registration processes. Mark Artymko, President of OCEAN, noted that the tool was a direct response to miner demand for professional-grade management capabilities that do not compromise sovereignty. Jason Hughes, VP of Engineering, emphasized that the platform rejects the industry-standard trade-off where miners exchange their anonymity for better reporting tools. This release continues OCEAN’s push toward non-custodial infrastructure, following previous initiatives like TIDES payouts and the DATUM block template technology.
