The campaign, a collaboration between Clear Channel Outdoor, A21, Compass Connections, and Union Pacific Railroad, targets the increased risks of forced labor and exploitation often associated with large-scale sporting events. Digital displays provide actionable information on recognizing signs of trafficking and offer resources for reporting suspicious activity. The effort runs through July 31, spanning the period surrounding the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30.
Early data suggests the outreach is effective. Since the campaign began in June, the National Human Trafficking Hotline reported over 600 signals related to potential trafficking or requests for resources originating from the participating cities. Scott Wells, CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor, noted that the company has utilized its advertising network for such awareness efforts since 2012, viewing the expansion as a critical step in helping survivors. At a press event in San Antonio, Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott joined representatives from law enforcement and the partner organizations to emphasize the role of community engagement in disrupting trafficking networks. The partners urge the public to remain observant and utilize the National Human Trafficking Hotline if they witness potential exploitation.
