Allison Transmission to equip 3,000 new German military vehicles

The order covers both 4x4 command and control platforms and 6x6 medium armored ambulances, with logistics managed by the Swiss distributor Sterki AG. The Allison 2500 SP transmission remains the exclusive drivetrain for the entire EAGLE line, a relationship dating back to the 2005 production of the EAGLE IV. Since 2008, the Bundeswehr has integrated approximately 670 of these vehicles into its fleet, including a recent batch of 80 ambulance units that began arriving in May 2025.

Taner Gider, Executive Director of EMEA Sales at Allison, noted that the company’s torque converter technology is designed specifically for high-stakes defense environments where mobility and reliability are critical. These transmissions provide consistent power transfer across varied terrains, supporting the tactical coordination required by the 4x4 command vehicles and the rapid response capabilities of the 6x6 medical variants. This procurement reinforces Allison's long-term role as a propulsion supplier for the German military’s ground vehicle modernization efforts.
