Dill Dinkers Marks First Franchise Conversion in Chico, California

Chico Pickle & Pong has officially rebranded as Dill Dinkers Chico, marking a pivotal shift in the pickleball franchise’s growth strategy. By converting an existing independent facility into a branded club, the company is testing a new model for independent owners to scale operations while retaining local community ties.

The transition, finalized July 22, 2026, sees owners Darrin and Annie Yoder integrating their 11-court facility into the national Dill Dinkers network. Originally inspired to launch their own club after visiting family in Northern California, the Yoders selected the franchise for its established membership platform and structured programming. This move provides local players with access to consistent leagues, clinics, and year-round climate-controlled play, addressing the demand for dedicated indoor space in the region.

For the Maryland-based franchisor, this conversion serves as a strategic blueprint for future expansion. Founders Denise and Will Richards noted that the partnership validates their operating model, offering a pathway for established club owners to professionalize their services without sacrificing the community atmosphere they cultivated. Located at 424 Otterson Drive, the facility now operates under the national brand’s standards while maintaining its role as a central hub for the local pickleball scene.
