The collaboration marks a shift for the McConaugheys' Pantalones Organic Tequila, moving the spirit from the liquor aisle into the dessert freezer. The new flavor combines fresh peach ice cream with Reposado tequila and a hint of lime, aiming to replicate the profile of a classic margarita. According to Pantalones CMO Persia Tatar, the project is designed to prove that tequila belongs in more places than just a cocktail glass.
For those local to a Tipsy Scoop Barlour, individual scoops are priced at $8.50, with pints available for $16. Nationwide availability is handled through Goldbelly, which offers a four-pint bundle for $109.95, complete with an insulated tote. Because the dessert contains up to 5% alcohol by volume, it is strictly for customers 21 and older, requiring an adult signature upon delivery.
This venture coincides with a broader expansion for Tipsy Scoop, which is preparing to open a new location in Dallas. For the McConaugheys, the ice cream serves as a creative extension of their brand, which has already established a footprint in the spirits industry with USDA-certified organic expressions produced in Amatitán, Jalisco. Despite a marketing strategy built on irreverence, the tequila has gained serious industry traction, including a Platinum-status Double Gold medal for its Añejo at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
