Strava Secures Native Integration on Samsung Galaxy Watch9 and Ultra2

Starting with the launch of the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2, the Strava fitness app will come pre-installed on Samsung’s latest wearables. This strategic partnership aims to embed the platform’s tracking and navigation tools directly into the hardware, granting new users a 60-day trial of premium subscription features upon setup.

The collaboration marks a shift toward deeper ecosystem interoperability, as Strava plans to integrate its navigation tools directly into Samsung Health. Later this year, users will gain native access to Strava Routes, allowing them to follow trails and paths directly from their wrists without toggling between third-party applications.

Michael Martin, chief executive officer of Strava, described the move as an effort to meet athletes at the moment they begin their training. Beyond the pre-installation, the companies are positioning this as the initial phase of a broader roadmap for Samsung and Strava users. The native support for Routes is scheduled to roll out to the wider Galaxy Watch user base in the coming months.
