Embecta Faces Securities Lawsuit Over Insulin Needle Sales Claims

A 57.8% single-day stock collapse has triggered a class action lawsuit against Embecta Corp., with attorneys alleging the medical device manufacturer misled shareholders about the stability of its core insulin pen needle business throughout late 2025 and early 2026.

The litigation, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, centers on claims that Embecta management repeatedly characterized its pen needle portfolio as resilient while allegedly concealing significant losses in market share and retail volume. These assurances remained in place until May 5, 2026, when the company reported a sharp revenue decline and slashed its full-year adjusted EPS guidance by 43%. Following the disclosure, the firm also reduced its quarterly dividend from $0.15 to $0.01 per share.

Hagens Berman, the firm leading the investigation, is currently seeking investors who suffered substantial losses between November 25, 2025, and May 4, 2026. Reed Kathrein, a partner at the firm, stated they are examining whether company leadership recklessly disregarded internal data regarding competitive headwinds while providing positive financial guidance to the market. The deadline for investors to serve as lead plaintiffs is August 17, 2026.
