While the teenager previously opted to use the simplified name in the Playbill for the Broadway musical The Outsiders, this filing transforms a professional preference into a permanent government record. A court hearing is currently set for November 2 to finalize the request.

The petition follows similar legal actions taken by her siblings, 21-year-old Zahara and 24-year-old Maddox, who have also initiated court proceedings to excise 'Pitt' from their names. Shiloh Jolie has already completed this process, with her legal counsel characterizing the decision as an independent step taken after painful family events. Although representatives for both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have remained silent on the filings, the recurring nature of these petitions has underscored the public fallout from the former couple’s long-standing separation. Under California law, these requests typically gain judicial approval once standard publication requirements are met, provided no legal objections are raised.
