Clinical adoption has been heavily influenced by Andrew Barton, a Nurse Consultant at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Following a two-year deployment in his units that resulted in zero extravasation injuries, Barton’s work earned the HSJ Patient Safety Pilot Program of the Year award. His trials demonstrated that the system identifies infiltration events with perfect sensitivity, consistently outperforming intermittent visual checks. Maya Aquino-Guerrero, a Patient Safety Champion at NHS Supply Chain, noted that such real-time monitoring empowers clinicians to intervene before complications become costly or irreversible.
