Brewer’s Alley Marks 30 Years as Frederick’s Craft Beer Anchor

The brewpub occupies a site with a pedigree dating back to 1765, having served as Frederick’s city hall, a public market, a jail, and an opera house. Since opening its doors in 1996, the establishment has transformed this historic footprint into a contemporary public square. Founder Phil Bowers recalls that when they first fired up the kettles, the local landscape was uncharted territory, eventually evolving into a venue where generations of locals have marked life milestones.

To commemorate the anniversary, the team has released a limited-edition American Pale Ale, crafted as a nod to their role in the state's brewing evolution. Looking toward the future, the venue is rolling out a refreshed culinary menu and modernized bar service across its three levels. The public is invited to an anniversary gathering on Wednesday, July 29, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, featuring a complimentary buffet and exclusive commemorative offerings.
