The curriculum will launch with three specific programs: Applied Artificial Intelligence, Global Events and Experience Management, and Digital Marketing. While GEDU Global Education provides the physical infrastructure and local delivery, Aberystwyth University maintains rigorous control over the academic framework. The university will retain full responsibility for program approval, examination standards, and ongoing quality assurance to ensure the Berlin offerings mirror the academic standards of its Welsh campus.
Fran Carey, Chief Marketing Officer at Aberystwyth, described the move as a strategic effort to increase accessibility for international students. Professor Ray Lloyd, Deputy CEO of GEDU, noted that the collaboration is built on shared values regarding student outcomes. For the university, the expansion follows a period of recognition, including being named UK Sustainable University of the Year for 2026 by The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide.
