The campaign, titled "Remember Pearl Harbor," seeks to protect the site of the December 7, 1941, attack while funding major facility upgrades, including a 60-foot curved screen designed to immerse visitors in the history of the conflict. The project focuses on two primary goals: the preservation and expansion of artifacts tied to the battlefield and the development of workforce training programs for youth in Hawaii and beyond.
General Richard B. Myers, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and his wife Mary Jo will serve as co-chairpersons for the committee. The group comprises a high-profile roster of military veterans, corporate leaders, and government officials, including Admiral Thomas B. Fargo and Northrop Grumman executive Thomas H. Jones. According to museum CEO John Hiltz, the initiative aims to treat the site not merely as a historical landmark, but as a living classroom that honors the resilience of those who served.
