Garmin Launches Screen-Free CIRQA Smart Band for Health Tracking

Garmin has introduced the CIRQA Smart Band, a minimalist wearable that tracks fitness and wellness metrics without a digital screen. Retailing for $199.99, the device offers 10 days of battery life and operates entirely subscription-free, syncing all health data directly to the company’s mobile application.

The device features a fabric strap designed for comfort, allowing users to wear it on the wrist or as an armband. By removing the display, Garmin aims to reduce digital distractions while maintaining robust health monitoring, including heart rate, Pulse Ox, stress, and skin temperature. The band automatically detects various activities and adapts its classification accuracy over time based on user input in the Garmin Connect app.

Health enthusiasts can track sleep stages, recovery metrics, and menstrual cycle data. For active users, the hardware supports over 80 specific activity types, VO2 max tracking, and training readiness analysis. When paired with a smartphone, the band utilizes connected GPS and LiveTrack location sharing. According to Susan Lyman, Garmin's vice president of consumer sales and marketing, the product is intended to complement existing smartwatches in the company's lineup, providing a discreet option for users who want continuous data monitoring without the constant feedback loop of a traditional screen.
