The GTF engines offer a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and a 75% smaller noise footprint compared to previous engine generations. For BOC Aviation, these efficiency gains serve as a foundation for expanding its future fleet. The company currently manages a portfolio of 813 aircraft and engines, supporting 88 airlines across 48 countries.
Rick Deurloo, president of Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney, highlighted the engine's status as a top choice for single-aisle aircraft. Steven Townend, chief executive officer of BOC Aviation, noted that the deal reflects the long-standing partnership between the two firms. With over 2,800 GTF-powered aircraft currently in operation globally, the engine remains a cornerstone of the manufacturer's strategy, backed by an order backlog exceeding 8,000 units.
