In a recent interview with Ghida Fakhry of TRT World, Cox described the treatment of Palestinians as unforgivable, emphasizing that his willingness to speak out stems from a belief that the truth must be prioritized over career preservation. He acknowledged that many colleagues remain silent out of fear for their professional futures, though he maintains that a significant portion of the industry privately supports the Palestinian cause as a fundamental right to life.
Beyond his public statements, Cox has aligned himself with Filmmakers for Palestine, joining a pledge signed by more than 5,500 artists—including Emma Stone, Olivia Colman, and Ayo Edebiri—to boycott Israeli film institutions implicated in the conflict. He has been particularly vocal regarding the death toll of minors, stating that the international community has failed to adequately protect children in the region. His advocacy has extended to cultural platforms as well, including a 2024 appearance at the Palestine Festival of Literature where he recited poetry by the late Refaat Alareer.
