Huntington Bank Expands South Carolina Footprint to Summerville

Huntington National Bank has planted its flag in Summerville, opening a new freestanding branch at 103 Station St. The move marks the institution’s fourth full-service location in South Carolina, serving as a tactical step in a broader regional expansion strategy targeting 55 new sites across the Carolinas.

The Summerville office joins a growing network that includes established branches in Charleston, Greenville, and Spartanburg. Regional president Trent Holland highlighted that this 11th location across the Carolinas aims to anchor the bank’s presence in the Lowcountry by offering localized financial services, drive-thru teller lanes, and 24/7 ATM access.

This physical growth follows a period of consolidation for the Columbus-based lender, which recently finalized systems conversions following mergers with Cadence Bank and Veritex Community Bank. With $285 billion in assets, Huntington is leveraging these acquisitions to accelerate its organic reach, positioning the new Summerville branch as a hub for both individual consumer banking and support for local businesses.
