Dan Malarek Named CEO of Roche Diagnostics North America

Malarek’s transition comes alongside the creation of a new leadership position, with Antonio Vergara appointed as Chief Commercial Officer for Roche Diagnostics U.S. Vergara, a 30-year veteran of the firm, will report directly to Malarek, managing the company’s commercial organization and business units. This structural change aims to tighten commercial execution across the North American market.

Global CEO of Roche Diagnostics Matt Sause credited Malarek with the vision and operational track record necessary to sustain the company's regional growth. Malarek’s history with Roche spans nearly two decades, beginning in 2007. His tenure has included roles in molecular diagnostics, global marketing, and his most recent position leading Foundation Medicine Inc. Vera Grossmann, currently the Chief Operating Officer at Foundation Medicine, will step in as interim CEO while the search for a permanent successor begins.
