Evri deploys Microsoft AI to overhaul parcel logistics

Parcel delivery firm Evri is integrating Microsoft’s AI-powered tools to refine operational efficiency and introduce granular personalization for its 25 million customers. By automating routine inquiries and leveraging cloud-based data, the company aims to resolve long-standing constraints in route optimization and delivery communication.

Chief Technology Officer Marcus Hunter is spearheading the development of five specialized “super agents” designed to handle internal workflows and customer-facing queries. These tools, underpinned by the Microsoft E7 suite and the Agent365 observability platform, will provide staff and couriers with immediate access to parcel tracking data. The transition marks a strategic pivot for the delivery giant, which previously lacked the technical infrastructure to offer tailored delivery windows at scale.

“We’ve never had the tools to do personalisation properly before,” Hunter stated regarding the shift. The company expects the initiative to reshape the delivery experience over the coming years, granting recipients greater control over the logistics of their shipments. This deployment follows a broader trend of retail and logistics firms adopting generative AI to bridge the gap between backend data processing and front-end consumer expectations.
