Since its inception, Hoffmann transformed the Chicago-based firm into a national powerhouse, expanding its footprint to nine offices across the United States. His work in complex property subrogation and catastrophic loss recoveries established the standards of advocacy that remain central to the firm’s identity. Reflecting on his departure, co-founder Mark Grotefeld credited Hoffmann with building the respected practice from the ground up, noting the firm’s gratitude for his decades of professional commitment.
Hoffmann leaves behind a firm that continues to operate under its original name, maintaining a focus on mass tort litigation and insurance coverage. In his parting comments, he expressed pride in the integrity and collaborative culture cultivated within the team over the last 19 years. The firm confirmed that business operations will proceed as usual, carrying forward the foundational principles established during Hoffmann’s tenure.
