Her career, which began in 1985, includes a tenure as principal at George Washington Carver High School and over 15 years of private consulting. Beyond her administrative work, she serves as an adjunct faculty member at Samford University, where she mentors doctoral students in educational methodology.
Her pedagogical approach emphasizes data-driven decision-making and the practical application of artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT to improve student outcomes. These efforts are detailed in her recent book, Leading When It's Hard: Leading Schools to Success in Challenging Communities, published in April 2026.
