PAX Health Acquires New Jersey Independent Medical Examiner MAKRAF IME

The integration brings MAKRAF IME’s specialized focus on behavioral health—including fitness-for-duty assessments, permanency evaluations, and disability reviews—directly into the PAX Health portfolio. By absorbing the firm’s infrastructure, PAX Health aims to reinforce its capacity for producing defensible, science-backed reports on causality and treatment necessity.

CEO Anthony DeSena noted that the acquisition aligns with the company’s push to scale high-quality medical-legal services across the region. MAKRAF IME co-founders Dr. Richard Filippone and Maryann Kezmarsky will transition their operations into the broader PAX Health network, maintaining established service standards while leveraging the parent company’s operational resources to accelerate growth.
